Crashing the Jets
In what appeared to be Mooretown Night in Ilderton, the Peewee AEs faced off against the Jets in the midst of our home teams of the Atom AEs, Bantam AEs, and Midget Girls.

The game started with a fast pace and the boys appeared to be on their mark skating and passing well. Plante-Hunter put the score on the board first gobbling a rebound sending it in to the twine. The Storm controlled most of the period with their gritty play driving to the net initiating some great offence. Ben Brant was on his game coming up big on a breakaway then thanking his post later in the period.

Dumoulin and Holmes added to the lead scoring some two markers in the middle frame. The first coming on a nice breakaway followed by a deke shot and the latter via a grab and go at the blue line then going top corner into the net. The team continued to play a strong defensive game not coughing up up too many turnovers and being able to break up any Jet rushes with the afterburner on. Mooretown would another insurance goal later in the period and unfortunately Brant's goose-egg would be broken with Ilderton hitting the board with one of their own.

The final frame was a feisty affair. The Jets were starting to get chippy with Mooretown but soon learned they would not get away with their actions. Our team responded accordingly showing Ilderton the force of the Storm. Even so, the Jets would fire a missile past Brant, however the battle would end there and our netminder and his defensive flank threw up the shield to stop any further assault. Mooretown would win the spirited game by a score of 4-2.

It was a solid team effort on behalf of the Storm and will give them some momentum when they face the Mt Brydges Cougars on Saturday.
