U13 Rep - Thorold Tournament Champs
The Mooretown Junior Flags, U13 Rep team entered the Beaverloch Farms Tournament in Thorold.   The tournament was hosted on the shores of the Welland Canal and the U13s cut through the tourney like lake freighters powering through the Great Lakes.   Mooretown was undefeated in round robin and dominated the final game to rise up and claim the championship vs Saugeen Shores.

The U13 Rep team began the Friday with a decisive victory 5-1 victory over the host team from Thorold. This was followed up by a 7-0 win that evening against Lambton Shores.  The offensive outpouring needed a barge to carry all the 12 goals back to Mooretown.

Saturday a second doubleheader day of hockey. The morning began with a familiar foe, Wallaceburg.  The Flags took the wind out of the Laker’s sail with a shutout, winning 5-0.   The night cap brought two unbeaten teams together: Mooretown and Saugeen Shores.  The game ended in a tie, as they made sure to bail out their vessel and advance to the finals on Sunday.

Sunday was a day to make memories!  The U13 Rep team took on Saugeen Shores, in a rematch, and blew them out of the water. The Atom Rep team sniffed victory and never let up, winning 3-1. They were champs and left no doubt.

The team navigated challenges, heeded the warning of lighthouses, and emerged as winning vessels.  Liam was the master of the meshed mansion and   defended like a coast guard patrolling the St. Clair River. Tucker & Kale, Drew & Josh, and Ryan & Cohen skated and shot with agility of a bass boat pulling smallies from Lake St. Clair.  Ewan and Klarke shot, scored and back checked with the speed of a jetski buzzing around Stag Island.  Chase, Cole, Oden, and Graeme played solid D and angled attacking skaters to the board like a tugboat pushing a freighter to a refinery dock in the valley.

The Flags were guided by their head coach, Ian Snedden, and the staff of Adam Teschke, Aaron Ticknor, Shawn Lajoie, and Mike McLaughlin kept coaching and showed the ability to bring people together like a pontoon boat hanging out at the swimming hole.
