Downed by the Rockets
With a tie in the column from a previous facing, the Novice Rep Storm played their Saturday home game against the Strathroy Rockets.
The game started with both sides skating fast with the puck going into both ends deep. The chances were there and the goaltenders were batting them away to keep the goose-egg for most of the first period. However, the Rockets would change that firing one past our netminder to take the lead but that was short-lived as Mooretown battled back to tie the game.
Joseph would be fed to the wolves by his teammates midway through the game seeing Strathroy blast two short-handed by him which would ultimately be the demise for the Storm as they were facing a hot Rocket goalie who was keeping the damage on their side to a minimum. Try they might but Mooretown just couldn't catch up.
Although the team couldn't pull off the win, the game was highly entertaining with some good scoring chances on both sides. The Storm will get a chance to fine tune their game before opening up the Mooretown Tournament against our neighbourly rivals the Sarnia Novice Sting.
