Will Lightning Stike Twice Against Flags?
Mooretown Flags Red take to the safe confines of Mooretown Sports Complex to host the Southwest Lightning 1. This game has a little story line attached to it. Flags red have skated to seven straight games with securing at least a point. We head all the way back to Oct. 19 in Blenheim with this team that took a victory from us skating away with a 3-2 victory.
That defeat remains to be the only real blemish on our record. I know the boys will have that in the back of their minds as they hit the ice. Mooretown now sits atop the league standings with 16 points and Southwest slightly lower with 13 points. Both teams seem to be putting pucks to the back of the net at a similar pace with Mooretown keeping it out of their net 12 less times. It's pretty crowded at the top of the standings and the Flags look to place some ground with the teams below them in the standings. The Flags Red continue to play the calibre of hockey that they are capable and work hard, there is no reason why the team shouldn't achieve success heading into the second half of the season.
