Same Script, Different Venue.. As The Black Flags Score With Less Than 30 seconds To Tie South Kent Lightning 1-1 Again.
As it has been all year the Mooretown Jr. Flags like to do things the hard way.  So another 1-1 tie Against South Kent means they will have to Win out or rely on other teams to help them get second place.

Sunday marked the second half of a home and home as the Mooretown Jr. Flags Black would face the South Kent Lightning #1 this time on rink 2 in Mooretown.  The plan was simple a win would set the team up for a chance at first and a better chance at second.  A loss would make it very hard to get to the top 2.  Mooretown would start off the game strong as they seemed to control most of the play through the first 5 minutes of the game.  But once again the Lightning’s stingy defense and goaltending would keep the Mooretown attack at bay.  South Kent would survive the early push by Mooretown and start to balance the scales getting chances of their own.  Neither team would score in the opening 10 minutes and South Kent would eventually out shoot Mooretown 6-5.  South Kent would make it 1-0 3:15 into the second as the defense would cough up the puck and Colin Gladwish would be unable to make the save.  The game settled into a chess match like it had the previous night as the teams traded chances back and forth.  South Kent would go to the box for a trip with 5:38 left in the second but Mooretown could not capitalize.  The Black Flags would go back on the power play 42 seconds after the team returned to 5 on 5 but again couldn’t buy a goal.  The Second would end 1-0 South Kent with the shots on goal favoring Mooretown 11-10.  The third would again see the goalies make some big saves with some great defensive plays as well.  The Black Flags would once again have to pull the goalie with about 2 minutes remaining and this time would score with 15.9 seconds left in the game as Ryan Nicholson fired through a crowd with assists to MacKenzie Lumley and Zach Clark.  Shots on goal in the third would go South Kent’s way 9-4 in the final 15 minutes.  Game totals were 25-20 in favor of The Lightning.  Maddie Mesko would get to rip half a logo off the octopus for her hard play throughout the game.  With the tie Mooretown retains their one point lead for second place with both them and the Lightning having 2 games left.  Mooretown Red reenters the equation with the chance to take second if they can win all three of their last game.  West Lorne has officially clinched first and home Ice advantage in the league finals.
