Novice Rep, U9 (Novice), 2012-2013 (Mooretown Minor Hockey)

Well boys you did it.  I would like to let everyone of you know how proud I am to have been able to coach you this year. You guys listened and worked hard all season and it paid off. Thank you for such a great year.

On Sunday the 10th of February 2013 the Mooretown Storm Novice Rep team continued the round robin portion of the OMHA playoffs.  The Stormtook on the Petrolia Oilers.  In the first game of this home and home series,the Oilers and Storm played a hard fought game that ended in a draw.  The Storm now looked to travel to the unfriendly confines of the Petrolia Greenwood recreation Center and keep their OMHA playoff hopes alive.

On the 11th of January the Mooretown Storm Novice team began the OMHA playoffs.  The playoff sets up with a round robin that pits the Storm against St. Mary’s, Petrolia, Dorchester and Strathroy in a round robin. The playoffs began with a game in St Mary’s against the Rock.  Mooretown played well against St. Mary’s however the Rock’s goaltender was excellent and kept the game to a 3-3 tie.

Well folks it appears that the team reporter is back from covering the NHL lock out and has sent in some breaking news regarding the Novice Rep. The Storm Novice rep team returned to the ice on the 6th of January 2013 after taking a break from hockey over Christmas. The Storm traveled to Mt. Brydges to play the Cougars.  The Storm hadn’t played for two weeks and were missing one  their top scorers, Masen Flett, as they attempted to beat the Cougars in the Storm’s second last game of the regular season.

The Storm Novice rep team was looking to go up against the leagues top teams as the Ridgetown Rebels and the Lambeth Lancers were coming to the Moore Sports Complex the Rebels on Saturday the 8th of December and the Lancers on the 9th of December.  The Strom started out well against the Rebels trading goals in the first period and ended the first in a 1-1 tie.  Lachlan Stewart and Masen Flett connected on the Storm’s lone first period goal.
