Belmont vs Mooretown @ Belmont
The regular season started for Mooretown in Belmont. A disciplined first period play saw Mooretown stay out of the penalty box generating some excellent scoring chances. Belmont managed to keep the puck out of their net killing multiple penalties. Late in the period Belmont knocked a garbage goal in the net to be the first on the board.
The second period began with Belmont getting a power play goal. Colton received a game misconduct for a hit that left the fans wondering why he was even assessed a penalty. Belmont took advantage of the bad call scoring another power play goal. Mooretown began to turn the tide with a short handed goal scored by Carter and assisted by Tyler.
After a flood Mooretown took to the ice looking to build upon their momentum. Ryerson made a brilliant breakaway save. Unfortunately, Mooretown couldn’t stay out of the box which saw two more power play goals and one full strength for Belmont.
