Storm Get Struck by a Comet
The Mooretown Atom AE Storm would make a trip to West Lorne to face the Comets.  With only 10 skaters, the team would work hard from beginning to end.  The outcome wasn't what they were looking for, but the team needs to be proud of their effort in this game.

The first period would see the Travis Morningstar start in net for the Storm.  Morningstar was solid between the pipes for the 1st period and throughout the game.  The Storm players would work hard, make some nice tape to tape passes and played their positions well.  Although the Storm had a number of opportunities to put the puck in the net, the score would remain 0-0 after 1 period.

The Storm would come out with the same intensity in the 2nd.  They played as a team and with confidence.  Scoring opportunities were seen by both teams.  The Comets would get on the scoreboard in the dying seconds of the 2nd on a poor Storm line change, while on the PK. making the score 1-0.

The third period would see the good play continue for the Storm.  Unfortunately for the Storm West Lorne would find a way to put one past Morningstar 5 mins into the 3rd.  Down 2-0 the Storm didn't give up and continued to battle for the puck.  Late in the game the Storm would hit the post, miss the net by inches among many other scoring opportunities.  Hard work and strong efforts were seen from the whole team with special recognition going to Devin Dewhirst for playing, what many agree was, his best game of the season.

Good work Storm!  Keep up that kind of effort and things will go your way.

REMINDER -- Practice this week will be on TUES, not THURS.
