Home Against the Lakers 3
The Storm would host the Lakers having played them in Wallaceburg on Oct 26th winning 7-0.

The Storm would get it going early passing the puck well and keeping it in the zone. Priddle would earn the first goal of the game unassisted with a wormburner that would beat the screened goalie. Mooretown was pummelling the Laker goalie who batted away puck after puck to keep Wallaceburg in the hunt.

The Lakers would get an opportunity early in the second as a skater would go end to end dancing around the Mooretown players as they watched like deer in the headlights but he couldn't pull it off to get a quality shot. Shortly thereafter, Ferguson would head in for a shot but just as he got over the blue-line, a Wallaceburg player with a Christmas twinkle in her eye would give him a mistletoe hook. Ferguson wanted no part of it and continued to skate towing her towards the net before the ref called the penalty. The Lakers would kill of the PK and with some momentum under their pads would hit the net with a blister that would beat Petrie and tie the game. Mooretown seemed to fall apart at this point beginning to play out of position and scramble for the puck impatiently allowing the Lakers to outplay the Storm. Ferguson would get the team ahead again with some help from Hardick and Klompstra as the fans watched Big D 19 grab the pass at the blue line slightly dekeing the goalie to make it a 2-1 game.

The final period was played much like the first. Both teams were getting the chances with the play of Wallaceburg's goalie keeping their team in the game. It was any teams game as Wallaceburg was playing well while the Storm were not at their best. The Lakers would prove this tieing the game with some quickness beating the Storm D heading in for Petrie. However, Ferguson would bite back with another go-ahead goal getting his second of the game unassisted as a result of some speedy determination to to beat the Laker defence and get the shot away that would light the lamp. The Storm seemed to be getting tired and were not playing like their polished selves giving the Lakers more time to mount the attack. Fortunately for Mooretown though, the lessons they had learned throughout the season was enough to earn them the win against a much improved Wallaceburg team.

Tom Foster would take home the hard hat. Since his memory is not what it used to be, we were all just pleased that he remembered to put his pants on before he came to the rink.
