A Couple Of Firsts Lift Storm To 11-1 Victory Over Ridgetown.
The Mooretown Storm played a solid 40 minutes of hockey and both Dallas Mesko and Chloe Plain notched their first goals of the year en route to an 11-1 win over visiting Ridgetown.

After a sparsely attended practice Friday night the Storm played their second last regular season game against the Ridgetown Rebels.  The Rebels have struggled all season long and the Storm were looking to work on a few of their positional play and passing game.  The Storm would get on the board first as Keaton Frayne found the back of the net with 4:07 left in the first to go up 1-0.  Colin Gladwish would be hardly tested on the day between the pipes as the Storm D and offense kept the puck on the Ridgetown side of the ice for most of the game. However Mooretown would lead just 1-0 after 1.  Nolan Johnston would score next off a feed from Keaton Frayne 1:50 into the second to make it 2-0.  Colton Beauvais would score a one timer from the slot just over 2 minutes later to make it 3-0.  The set up pass came from Dominic Aliperti.  Ridgetown would intercept a pass in the high slot and fire it past Gladwish 57 seconds later to make it 3-1.  One of just 4 shots Gladwish would see on the day.  Dominic Aliperti would notch a natural hat trick including 2 goals in 20 seconds to lift the Storm to a 6-1 lead after 2.  Keaton Frayne would garner one assist on the third goal by Aliperti.  Note one of Dominic goals may have gone off of Dallas Mesko’s backside and in but the score sheet indicates Dominic.  Josh Raymond would head to the sin bin late in the second for the only penalty of the game.  The Storm would continue to press their advantage as Dominic scored 48 seconds in with an assist from Cameron Crowley then scored 46 seconds later with the assist given to Keaton Frayne.  Mesko would finally get his goal.. this time off of his stick as he would score on the edge of the crease.  Assist to MacKenzie Lumley. Another first goal was scored next by Chloe Plain who knocked home a rebound from a Keaton Frayne shot.  Aliperti would score the Turkey with 3:17 left with a shot from the point to make the final 11-1.  The coach was pleased with a full game effort and saw some of the things worked on in practice come to fruition during the game.  The next few weeks are very quiet for the team due to Silver stick tournaments.  The team will have a shared practice Monday the 6th and will have a full ice practice on the 13th due to the Black team being in Petrolia.  The team will then have a shared practice on the 20th before facing Mooretown Black in the final game of the regular season on the 25th.
