Yellow Storm Close Out Regular Season With A Hard Fought 4-3 Loss To Black
The Mooretown Storm attempted another last minute come back but fell short falling 4-3 to Mooretown Black to wrap up the regular season.

The Yellow Storm were looking to get back to the 500 mark with a season ending game against Mooretown Black as Yellow came in with a record of 6-7-4.  Both teams would battle hard but the puck seemed to be in the Yellow zone more than the Black zone in the first.  Colin Gladwish played one of his best games of the year denying the Black on some glorious chances.  In the end, literally, at 9:59 of the first Dominic Aliperti would put the Yellow Storm up 1-0 with an assist to Keaton Frayne to make it 1-0 after 1.  The second was much like the first with the Black team outchancing the Yellow team but Penalties would be one reason for that as the Yellow team would go to the box 4 times as Aliperti went for Unsportsmanlike Conduct, Josh Raymond for Cross Checking, Keaton Frayne for Roughing which he took Jacob Williams with him and Dallas Mesko would get one for tripping.  But The Yellow Storm will kill them all off while missing on their powerplay when Cyrus Sinopole went to the box for slashing.  Mooretown Black would break through with 1:04 left in the second to make it 1-1 after 2.  Mooretown Yellow’s penalty kill would go back to work midway through the third as Keaton Frayne would head back to the box for Interference but again the Black was denied.  The Mooretown Black took their first lead of the game with 5:38 left and would open up a 2 goal lead 1:26 later to make it 3-1.  But Yellow would fight back as Aliperti would notch his second with an assist from Anthony Plain with 3:25 left.  Black would answer right back scoring just 20 seconds later to make it 4-2.  But the drama was not over yet.  With the goalie pulled Aliperti would score his hat trick goal unassisted off the draw to make it 4-3 with 34 seconds left.  But the Yellow Storm would not be able to control the puck for the final 30 seconds falling 4-3.  While a majority of the play was in the Yellow zone there were some nice plays by the D to move the puck out of the yellow zone as well as some nice cross ice passing.  Mooretown Yellow will play in the consolation division of the Tri county league Starting next weekend
