Sunday Morning Pancakes… Storm Come Out Flat And Lose To Ridgetown 2-1
The Mooretown Storm just couldn’t seem to find their legs and ran out of time to get them moving as they fell 2-1 to Ridgetown in Sunday morning playoff action.

Canada won the Gold and the Mooretown Storm laid a golden egg as they scored 3 goals 2 of which were in their own net to hand Ridgetown a 2-1 win to drop the Storm to 3 and 1 in the playoffs.  The game would start off slow but the Storm would garner a couple of chances but the Ridgetown goalie was superb between the pipes while Colin Gladwish would make some quality saves of his own in the Mooretown net.  The teams would play a scoreless first and Mooretown would kill off the only penalty of the game as Dominic Aliperti would go to the box for hooking with 3:23 left in the first.  The second would remain tight checking but it was Ridgetown who would be rewarded for throwing the puck at the net as it went off a Storm player skate in front and find it’s way between Gladwish’s pads for the games first goal midway through the period.  Neither team would score through the rest of the second.  Mooretown would finally break the Ridgetown goalie’s shut out 5:21 into the third as Josh Raymond’s shot from the blue line went in off the Ridgetown goalies stick to tie the game 1-1.  Ridgetown would go back to the attack and a centering pass from the corner would go off of MacKenzie Lumley’s stick and once again go through Gladwish for what would prove to be the winner.  The game would be called for curfew and the Storm would skate off with their first loss of the playoffs.  The team was completely flat on this day and Ridgetown deserved to take the win. Hopefully the kids learned there are no guaranteed wins and without effort wins are not possible.
