Storm vs Lakers

The Storm were on their heels right out of the gate as they fell 1-0 within the first minute of play. That was the wake up call the boys needed; Joey Edlington busted through the defence and ripped one past the goalie. Fantastic, acrobatic saves by Travis Gray kept the the game tied.
Kelby Derrick used his blazing speed and a hard, low wrister to blow our second goal by the Laker's goalie. The Lakers didn't give up as they came back with the equalizer. Logan Klompstra threw a hard shot on net from the top of the circle and was rewarded with the go ahead goal. But the Lakers weren't done just yet! They caught a lucky rebound to take a 4-3 lead. Midway through the third, Joey back at it again, bulldozing his way through the defence and took a shot on net. The Laker's goalie made the first save but could do nothing but watch as Owen McCowan roofed the puck to tie the game. Excellent saves from Caleb Lafromboise is just what the team needed to end the game with a tie.
Great effort boys. Things are coming together nicely. Keep up the hard work!
